Voice of the Masses

Voice of the Masses

2nd-Level Enchantment | Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a drop of water from the public well of a large city)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

While in a settlement, you flood the mind of a Humanoid you can see within range with a cacophony of the inner voices of everyone in the surrounding community. A barrage of hopes, fears, concerns, doubts, and longing pour over the target, making it lose all sense of direction. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 3d6 psychic damage and becomes disoriented for the duration. Whenever the disoriented target moves, it does so in a random direction. To determine the direction, roll a d8 and assign a direction to each die face. On a successful save, the target takes half the damage, isn’t disoriented, and the spell ends.

At the end of each of its turns, the disoriented target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional Humanoid for each slot level above 2nd. The Humanoids must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.
